Alexsa Wicker Psychotherapy Services

We are thrilled to welcome Alexsa Wicker Psychotherapy Services to the Black Women Bloom Directory—a space created to celebrate and support the brilliance of Black woman-owned businesses. Alexsa’s journey into private practice is not just inspiring, it’s a testament to resilience, heart-centered healing, and the power of showing up as your full self in service to others.

After nearly a decade working in treatment and rehabilitation centers, Alexsa realized she could help more people by stepping outside the confines of traditional institutions and creating a therapeutic space rooted in authenticity, connection, and cultural understanding.

“One of the first things I realized was the importance of flexibility,” she shares. “Face-to-face connections are so vital in therapy, but during the pandemic, I had to learn how to hold space virtually—and it still had the power to heal.”

Alexsa’s story is one of growth through adversity. From navigating the emotional toll of the pandemic to returning to work postpartum during turbulent times—including the California wildfires and post-election stress—she brings lived experience and deep empathy into every session. Her ability to show up, both as a mother and a mental health professional, offers her clients real-time wisdom and grounded support.

What Makes Alexsa’s Practice Unique

Alexsa believes true healing begins with realness. She brings her full, human self into every therapy session—offering a space that feels safe, supportive, and honest.

  • She meets clients exactly where they are, honoring their emotional and mental landscape without judgment.

  • She believes in genuine connection over perfection, and in creating therapeutic relationships rooted in trust and transparency.

  • And above all, she supports her clients with compassion and care, helping them navigate the hard seasons and discover tools for resilience and self-trust.

“We cannot pour from an empty cup,” she reminds us. “During the hardest seasons, I had to make time for my own mental health and healing so I could be present for others. That’s something I bring into my work every day now.”

Advice for New Entrepreneurs

To new business owners and service providers stepping into their own, Alexsa says: Take the leap.
“Even if you’re scared, even if you feel like an imposter, there are people waiting for exactly what you have to offer.”

She encourages entrepreneurs to lead with authenticity and self-compassion. Setbacks are part of the journey, not signs of failure. And your story, your voice, and your truth will always be your greatest asset.
